What is Glucose

Glucose facts:

* Glucose is one of the most abundant carbohydrates
* Glucose is a crucial carbohydrate in keeping the brain functioning at it’s peak, supplying it with the main source of it’s energy.
* Glucose is turned into blood sugar. (Glucose = Blood Sugar)
* Glucose determines how carbohydrates are charted on the GI (Glycemic Index)
* High amounts of glucose result in an insulin spike, where as low amounts of glucose result in a slower, more steady flow of insulin.
* Glucose is most abundant in foods like white bread, and baked white potatoes (High on the Glycemic Index). Where as fiber-rich, whole-grain carbohydrates (Low on the Glycemic Index) contain a lower amount of glucose.

In a nutshell, Glucose can be ether good or bad, depending on the amounts of glucose present.
